01
The Challenge

Fieldwork had strong inbound lead volume from their content and paid channels, but a poor lead-to-demo conversion rate. Leads were entering their system, receiving a single automated follow-up, and going cold. The sales team was spending significant time manually chasing prospects who had shown clear intent but simply drifted after their initial engagement.

The core problem was a complete absence of nurture infrastructure. There was no sequence designed to maintain relevance, build trust, or create urgency between a lead's first touch and the moment they were ready to book a demo. The CRM was full of warm leads that had simply gone quiet.

02
The Approach

We built a 9-email nurture sequence designed to run from first lead capture to demo booked — across a 21-day window. The sequence was structured in three phases: education (what the problem costs them), demonstration (how Fieldwork addresses it), and conversion (why now, why us).

Each email had a single job. No email asked the reader to do more than one thing. We wrote the first three emails in a plain-text, first-person voice from the founder — personal, credible, and without a single obvious marketing signal. The middle phase introduced specific use cases that matched the lead source (we wrote variant sets for different acquisition channels). The final phase used scarcity framing and social proof to create a decision moment.

We also wrote a 3-email re-engagement branch for leads who went quiet mid-sequence — a shorter, more direct set designed to either re-engage or cleanly close the loop.

03
The Results

Demo bookings from nurtured leads increased 38% in the first 90 days. Average time from lead to booked demo dropped from 18 days to 7. The sales team reported a significant improvement in the quality of prospects arriving on demos — fewer exploratory calls, more decision-ready conversations.

The re-engagement branch alone recovered 14% of leads that had previously gone cold — generating 22 additional demos in the first quarter at zero incremental acquisition cost.

The nurture sequence they built for us now generates a steady flow of demo requests on autopilot. It does not feel like automation — it feels like a conversation. That is the difference.
